Cantonese Spaghetti (廣府意大利面)
5 12 2007Aways have a thought that Spaghetti will be tasty if cook with the Cantonese style. Today I’m going to try it to prove my theory. Alright, here’s the ingredients:
According to the instruction on the spaghetti package, some salt and oil need to be added into the boiling water before putting the spaghetti into the boiling water, then only put the spaghetti into the water.
Cook until the spaghetti is ‘al dente’, then pour it out and put it aside. You can mix some butter to make the spaghetti smell nice. Ok, now it’s time to prepare the Cantonese style sauce. At this point of time, my stupid camera had run out of batteries… so I’m not able to take any picture of the sauce preparing progress. But basically just fry all the ingredient together, add some water, and of course some flavoring like salt, soy sauce, oyster sauce, pepper, etc. Mix the corn powder with water and slowly pour into the ingredients to make it thicker. Finally add in the stirred egg, then you’re done!
Ok, luckily the Cantonese style Spaghetti did not taste bad, at least I like it. It served even better by adding some limau juice into it, yummy!!

One Wok Cook Porridge (一鍋熟粥)
4 12 2007Mom is too lazy to cook, and I’m too lazy to go out and dapao for lunch, so I’ve decided to cook whatever that I can found in the fridge and throw into the saucepot and mix it together with the rice and hopefully come out with a eatable porridge. Here’s what I found in the fridge:
Alright, I think those ingredients are enough for a pot of porridge. Let’s marinate the rice with the soy sauce, salt, sesame oil and pepper.
After marinated the rice for about 10 minutes, then add in some amount of water and pour all the ingredient into the saucepot together with the rice, damn easy… I’ll need to leave the fish cake alone and put it into the saucepot later, because it will lost it’s taste if put in too early.
That’s it!! Let it boil for about 20 – 25 minutes, and the One Wok Cook Porridge is done!! I like to add an egg into the hot porridge coz it taste yummy!
